Report on the geological survey of the province of New Brunswick: with a topographical account of the public lands and the districts explored in. New Brunswick (Fig. 1), is one of the most important gold discoveries in New Brunswick in recent years (McLeod et al., ).

The mineralization is hosted in a volcanic complex known as the Poplar Mountain volcanic complex (PMVC), which is close to the Woodstock fault, a major re-gional structure, and is 8 km from the surface contact of the. The geological structure of the area, which also includes topography and geomorphology, is determined by conducting extensive and intensive geological surveys.

These surveys would reveal the entire topographic details (i.e. existence of hills, slopes, valleys, plains, and plateaus), occurrence of folds, faults and major unconformities and joint. Concerning the future of geochemistry in mineral exploration the authors write (p.

), “To an increasing degree, detailed geochemical work will be carried out in conjunction with geological and geophysical studies as a component of integrated exploration systems aimed at pinpointing targets for trenching or drilling.”.

The objective of this study is to search for the link between the compositions of felsic magmas and the ore metals of VMS deposits by means of trace element geochemistry. We carried out a detailed investigation on the Ordovician felsic volcanic rocks associated with the VMS deposits in the Bathurst Mining Camp, New Brunswick.
